Yes and No

Learning to say no is part of saying yes to your own life. I want to help others without making commitments that ignore what I need. This reflection starts with both words and the choices they make possible.

Learning to say no while keeping an honest yes

An important word: 𝐘𝐞𝐬.

Yes, means saying Yes to your life.
Yes, means saying Yes to yourself.
Yes, means saying Yes to others.

But, make sure when saying ‘Yes’ to others that you aren’t saying ‘No’ to yourself.

Because ‘𝐍𝐨’ is also a powerful and important word.

Many people have a big difficulty in just saying ‘No’.

It’s okay to say ‘No’, you’re not selfish.
It’s okay to say ‘No’, you’re not nasty.
It’s okay to say ‘No’, you’re not unpolite.

Don’t fall into this trap.

Say ‘Yes’ only if what you feel (Yes), what you think (Yes) and what you say (Yes) is the same.

Saying no becomes clearer when the same rules of respect apply to both people.
