You wake up, it’s a normal Saturday morning.
A new fresh weekend – you are ready to relax.
But life has different plans.
Suddenly you hear crying coming from downstairs, it’s one of your children.
But as you are used to it, it’s nothing that bothers you more than other times.
But it won’t stop. So, probably something bigger than normally.
You go downstairs to check after your child. Blood. Crying. Pain.
Ok, it looks serious. He must have fallen. He is only 13 months old. So, can’t really explain the situation.
You try to calm him down. Doesn’t work. Give some paracetamol against the pain. Still crying and pain.
You think “Okay, let’s visit the doctor”. At that time it’s around 10AM Saturday morning.
Not the best way to start your weekend, but then you remember “It’s just one of life’s tests. I’ll go through it.”
And you do what you have to do.
Calm down also other people around who are crying and a bit or just overwhelmed by the situation.
You just keep going and think “It is what it is.”
Someone needs to stay calm, keep things in order and just go to the doctor. There is no place and time for crying or drama when your child needs you.
After arriving at the local doc, it’s clear: “The wound needs to be stitched”
So you drive to the local hospital where the friendly doctor is ready to help.
The doctor prepares the wound, the needle is ready, some pain-killer are already given to the little one – and action.
A few minutes later, everything is done and you’re allowed to go back home.
All are a bit tired, but also relieved by the doctors calming words.
And the learning: “Life will always test you, be ready and just take the new challenge as it comes. Take action, keep a good attitude and go through it.”
If there is a meaning in life at all, then there must be a meaning in suffering. Suffering is an ineradicable part of life, even as fate and death. Without suffering and death human life cannot be complete.
