“Now is not the time to stay silent. Now is the time to speak.” That was the message of my latest video. I was speaking to Albanians in Albania, Kosovo and the diaspora about taking an interest in what is happening to one another.

One part of that message matters especially: if you do not know where you stand, inform yourself. Read. Ask why people are protesting. Find out what is being discussed before deciding that it has nothing to do with you.

Disagreement is part of the conversation

In the video, I also said that if you think I am wrong, say so. Opening a discussion cannot mean that everyone must agree with me. It means taking the subject seriously enough to have a view and explain it.

I do not want concern for our people to stop at a border or at the place where we happen to live. That is the personal conviction behind this appeal.

The original recording includes political allegations and references to current events. This article keeps the civic appeal; it does not present those allegations as verified reporting. My request here is simple: take an interest, get informed and participate in the discussion.
