No, I did not return to Kosovo for the chaos. And yes, I made use of the good things Switzerland offers. Both can be true.
Choosing one place does not mean pretending the other gave you nothing. I do not need to speak badly of Switzerland to explain that Kosovo matters to me.
Nor does returning mean that every difficulty suddenly becomes something to celebrate. A choice is more complicated than the label someone puts on it from the outside.
I have already written about how returning takes time. This is another part of that conversation: gratitude for one country and a commitment to another do not have to cancel each other out.
