HYROX preparation includes checking the standard, then practising the movement that counts.

The most useful sentence in my HYROX training caption might be the admission: we should go deeper with the squats. Still preparing. A training clip can show effort while also showing something that needs work.

That is the part I want to keep visible. Posting a session should not require pretending that every repetition is perfect. If the goal is to improve, being honest about the gap is part of the work.

HYROX preparation starts with the standard

The HYROX Singles rulebook for 2026/27, section 8.8, specifies 100 valid wall balls. A repetition combines a full squat with hitting the correct target; at the bottom, the hips must go below the knees. Check the rules for your own division and event.

For me, this gives preparation a clear question: am I practising a movement that meets the standard, or just accumulating a number? The caption acknowledges depth as something to improve. It does not establish that the session shown is a technique demonstration to copy.

Be willing to be corrected

A useful training conversation can be specific. Ask a qualified coach to check the movement rather than asking only whether you worked hard. Understand the feedback, work within your ability and allow room to improve before chasing a faster set.

I am sharing preparation, not claiming a race result, a finishing time or a coaching qualification. The broader lesson I take from this clip is simple: effort and an honest standard belong together. You can be proud of showing up and still admit that the next repetition needs attention.
