Or should I say Gmail? Anyway – email is email.
I did it 10 years wrong, until I learned it: the easy way is the best way.
Most people struggle a lot with keeping their inbox clean.
I’ve seen some – Oh my God – with 4’733 unread emails. I never have anxiety – but in those cases it gets me.
Anyway, you’re for sure not one of them, but you can do better, probably my setup will help you, because:
- No distraction
- Super easy to manage
- Search is your best friend
- No plugins needed
So, what you do if you use Gmail:
- Quick settings: Default
- Inbox Type: Starred first
Whenever a new email hits your inbox, you have just three options:
- Star it (Gmail’s star system allows you to mark your most important emails) –> Those are the emails you will work on.
- Archive it –> Those are the emails you want to keep, but there is no action needed (Search is enough, don’t waste time with Categories and Labels!)
- Delete it / Put in SPAM / Unsubscribe –> Those are the emails you don’t want/don’t need
Here short guidance:
- Inbox Type: Starred first
- Your Inbox will look like this: Starred first and Everything else below.
