My Slovakia post asks about the Albanian community. Before expanding that conversation, I need to correct a number in the original caption.
What the census table actually says
The official 2021 census cross-table records 644 people declaring Albanian ethnicity and 678 declaring Albanian as their mother tongue. My caption gave 1,056 for mother tongue; in this table, that is the Romanian-language total.
These are different measures with overlapping populations. They should not be added together or presented as a current count of the entire Albanian diaspora. They describe the census, not every person who might identify with the community today.
