During our visit, we listened to an Arbëreshë song that brings together a handshake, the language and the memory of Skanderbeg. The words ask people to stay connected and to keep their language alive.

The image of Skanderbeg joining people who meet is poetic. It expresses belonging through a familiar historical figure; it is not an account of a historical event.

There is a useful parallel in Ornela Radovicka’s April 2024 account in Dielli, which also describes Rina Bellusci singing about Skanderbeg’s presence among the group. Our recording preserves another moment of this living tradition. I have summarised its meaning rather than reproduced the full lyrics or assigned an unverified author or date.
