“Te Përkrenarja e Skënderbeut, moment emocional.” At Skanderbeg’s helmet, an emotional moment. That was how I described this stop in Vienna in my original Albanian caption. It is the part of the post I can state without borrowing an explanation from anyone else: seeing the helmet mattered to me.

The object behind the story
The museum’s collection record, A 127, tentatively dates the helmet to the later fifteenth century and traces its documentation to the 1593 Ambras inventory. Those are different dates: one concerns the object’s proposed age, the other a surviving record.
My caption also mentioned Pyrrhus and offered a longer Latin interpretation of the inscription. Neither idea should become a fact here simply because I put it beside a video. I have separated the inscription and its interpretation into their own article.
What to take from the visit
If you arrive here through the video, start with the moment itself. Then open the museum record and compare its wording with the caption. Which details describe the object? Which are interpretations? That is a more useful way to explore this part of our heritage than repeating every explanation attached to it.
