In this archived announcement, I described bringing the dua.com team and app to Sunny Hill Festival in Prishtina. The post presented the Spotted feature as a way for festivalgoers to find people they had crossed paths with. It also set out plans for activities, giveaways and social coverage.
Those were the plans described in that announcement. They are not a current festival schedule or proof of what every attendee experienced. What interests me here is the product question behind the presence: why should someone at a real event care about a digital tool?
Start with the moment people are already in
At an event, the product competes with everything happening around it. A useful explanation starts with the situation, not a list of features. What might someone want to do there? How does the app relate to that moment?
In the caption, that connection was meeting people within the festival setting. A team can use such a specific situation to make its explanation clearer. It also provides questions to listen for: what is confusing, what feels relevant and what people expected to happen.
Give the presence a purpose beyond visibility
A stand, a team and a social post can make a brand visible. They do not by themselves tell you whether the product was useful. Before an event, define what you want to learn and how you will record it without collecting unnecessary personal details.
Afterwards, distinguish what was planned from what actually happened. Keep observations, questions and measured results separate. The Sunny Hill post preserves an ambitious moment in the company story. The lesson I take from it is to connect the product with a real situation, then stay curious about whether that connection makes sense to the people there.
