Sometimes I picture life as a game of hide-and-seek. The image helps me approach a challenge with curiosity. I can take the next move seriously without making it my entire identity.
I find that image useful as a prompt for perspective. You can take a problem seriously without letting it become the only way you describe your life. Calling life a game does not mean another person’s pain is trivial or that every obstacle is easy.
Try describing the challenge in one concrete sentence. “This project has stalled” leaves room to examine what happened. “I am a failure” turns a situation into a verdict on a whole person.
Be specific about what needs attention. Do you need information, a conversation, more time or help from someone with relevant experience? You do not have to know the entire route before identifying the next part.
Ask what remains true alongside this challenge: a relationship you value, a skill you can use, a responsibility you care about or something that gives you perspective. Those things do not erase the difficulty. They keep it from filling the whole frame.
Choose one next action and one person you can speak to honestly. Believing in yourself can include accepting support. You are allowed to face the situation without reducing yourself to it.
