In Milan, I shared two very different buildings: the Duomo and Bosco Verticale. The city gave me plenty of inspiration.

Construction of the cathedral began in 1386, according to the organisation that cares for it. Its long history offers one way of looking at the city.

Bosco Verticale offers another. The project by Boeri Studio brings trees and other plants onto residential towers. In my post, I joked that I had found where I would live in Milan. What caught my attention was the way nature and urban life meet in the architecture.

These were two stops from the same day: a cathedral built across generations and a different idea of what a city home can look like.
