After around three weeks of camping and travelling by van, I had a clearer answer to whether this way of travelling suited me. There was a lot to enjoy, especially the people.
At campsites, conversations happen naturally. People share recommendations, talk about the journey and have a coffee together. That sense of community was one of the nicest parts of the experience.
The practical side felt different after several weeks. Shared facilities and everyday routines took more effort, and having my hand in a cast made things harder. What feels adventurous for a few days can become tiring when it becomes your daily routine.
I could imagine enjoying a shorter camping trip. Living this way for a long period felt less suited to me. That is not a verdict on the lifestyle; it is what I learned by trying it. A trip can be worthwhile even when the answer you bring home is that you prefer something else.
