My short TikTok list for AI beginners named ChatGPT, Claude, Manus, Google AI Essentials and Harvard CS50. The invitation was simple: start learning. A list is useful only if it leads to something you actually try.
AI for beginners: tools and foundations
ChatGPT and Claude are places to explore questions, writing and coding tasks. Manus presents itself around carrying out tasks. You do not need to start with all three or buy multiple subscriptions. Choose one task you can judge yourself: organise your own notes, explain a small piece of code or draft a message.
The other two entries serve a different purpose. Google AI Essentials teaches introductory AI use, prompting and responsible use. CS50x introduces computer science and programming. It is a route into foundations, not simply another chatbot tutorial. Pick the learning path that matches the skill you want to build.
Finish one small exercise
Write down the result you want before opening a tool. Give it relevant context, inspect what comes back and ask a follow-up question about what is unclear. If it produces code, run a small test. If it makes a factual claim, check the source. A confident answer still needs your judgement.
At the end, explain what you learned in your own words. What helped? Where did it go wrong? And what would you change in the next attempt? That turns a quick experiment into something you can repeat.
